Well, well, well.
Almost two months ago, I wrote about Tennessee congressional candidate Brad Staats getting into a bit of media hot water for posting an unwise Facebook status aimed at President Obama, accompanied by a photo of his hand gun, and my high school connection to the headline-making asshat.
Staats is making headlines again (he LOST his congressional race, by the way, to democratic incumbent Jim Cooper) for violating that Family Values platform he ran on by smacking his wife Bethany around during a domestic dispute.

Staats admitted to police that he “pushed his wife … down onto a bed then left the location,” according to a Metro Nashville Police Department affidavit. The report also indicates that Staats’ wife Bethany called police to their Hermitage home and told police Staats slapped her.
“Ms. Staats did have a red mark on her left cheek consistent with her statement,” the affidavit reads.
The former Republican candidate for Tennessee’s 5th District was booked into Davidson County Jail at 3:39 a.m. Sunday. Staats, 43, was charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic assault, posted a $5,000 bond and was released.
A trial date of February 7, 2013 has been set.
Valentines Day should be REALLY interesting in that house.
